The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Viera tries to close the distance and clinch but Silalahi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Silalahi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Viera (0) vs (2) Silalahi Viera has his foot on Silalahi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silalahi works his way back into a safe position though. Viera controls Silalahi momentarily but Silalahi frees himself. Silalahi engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Viera not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silalahi stands and throws Viera's legs to the side, diving into side control. Viera is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Silalahi pulls his head out easily. Silalahi looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Viera tries to roll over but Silalahi keeps him under control. Well, if Silalahi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Silalahi trying to mount his opponent but Viera defends it. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Viera wants to improve his position but Silalahi is controlling well.

Viera is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Silalahi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Viera, who protects the arm well. Viera sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Silalahi prevents Viera from improving his position. Viera trying to hold on to Silalahi's head to control him but Silalahi postures up.

Silalahi trying to control but Viera is having none of it. Viera wants to hold on but Silalahi pushes him away. Viera bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Viera (2) vs (11) Silalahi Viera looking to pass the guard. Silalahi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Viera doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Silalahi is tightening it up a little... Viera has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Viera reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Viera taps out!
