This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; Yakami Sansho! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; Gozo Shioda!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sansho.
Sansho dives in for a single leg takedown but Shioda sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Sansho sets himself, and Shioda steps forward looking for the clinch! Sansho avoids it this time.
Shioda jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sansho walks away with a smile on his face. Shioda gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Shioda might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sansho haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Sansho is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shioda knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

You can see the frustration on Shioda's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Sansho has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Shioda has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

I really don't envy Shioda right now.

Shioda is trying to control his opponent's hands. Eventually Sansho gets his hands free and sinks in a rear naked choke. For a while it looks like Shioda is going to survive but after struggling valiantly, he eventually has to tap out! Sansho is your winner!
