And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Jack Manion! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Fujiwara and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Manion shoots in and drives through. Kane sprawls well. Manion tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kane swivels and escapes. Kane attempts a counter takedown but Manion avoids it well and moves away. Kane moves into range and clinches up with Manion. Kane has picked Manion up - he's going for a ride! Kane dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Kane (2) vs (0) Manion The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Manion looking for submissions off his back. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kane in particular looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Manion slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Manion working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kane doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kane manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Manion is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kane rolls with it to try and escape but Manion cranks on the arm and Kane is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
