Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jani Hurme (ranked 2542 p4p, 1506 weight class) and Manuel Paruzzi (ranked 281 p4p, 177 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jani Hurme!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Manuel Paruzzi!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot lands for Hurme.

Hurme moves into the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Hurme scores with a nice short uppercut.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Hurme takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Hurme wants the takedown. Paruzzi is fighting it off but Hurme persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Paruzzi's guard against the cage.

Hurme is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Paruzzi can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Hurme goes for an armbar but Paruzzi turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Paruzzi.

Paruzzi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hurme's guard.
Well, if Paruzzi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hurme throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Paruzzi shoots for a double leg takedown but Hurme sprawls well. He's pushed Paruzzi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hurme throws a body punch but Paruzzi moves out of range.
Hurme cracks Paruzzi with a good jab.

and Paruzzi counters with a one-two to the body.
Hurme connects with a single shot there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hurme is looking for a kimura but Paruzzi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hurme to get the leverage.
Hurme wants to free his trapped foot but Paruzzi is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Paruzzi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hurme's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hurme's back!

Hurme is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Paruzzi gets his way!
Paruzzi controlling the position well here. Hurme rolled but Paruzzi kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

What can Hurme do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Paruzzi keeps control of the position as Hurme tries to break free.

Let's hope that Paruzzi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Paruzzi seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Jani Hurme overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hurme seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hurme is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Manuel Paruzzi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Paruzzi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
