Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James lands a leg kick that knocks Lopes off balance momentarily.
Lopes pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
James lands with a kick to the temple. Lopes shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Lopes misses with a hook.
James displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lopes throws out the jab.

A lazy left from Lopes finds it's target.

An inside leg kick lands from James.
James ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lopes swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Lopes throws the left hand but James avoids the punch easily.
James plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
James delivers a nice body kick.
Lopes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but James manages to avoid it.
James throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Lopes's head.

and James counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
James buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Lopes throws a big shot that misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from James! But no joy.
Lopes moves out of range of the strikes.
James slips a jab from Lopes.
James counters with a body kick.
James is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lopes is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
James on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
James takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Lopes chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before James can pounce on him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lopes loads up on a big right hand but James slips the punch.

Lopes throws a hook to the side of James's head but James sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
James bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
James slips under a jab from Lopes.
Lopes swings and misses with a shot to the body
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Lopes drops his hands momentarily and James takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
James misses with the combination.
Lopes cracks a nice hook into James's ribs.

Lopes throws a perfectly timed hook that sends James crashing down! James tries to stagger back to his feet but Lopes just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused James asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
