Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Matija Maestro (ranked 3319 p4p, 2840 weight class) and Kert Breischer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maestro kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Planet Caravan - Black Sabbath. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 21 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Matija Maestro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kert Breischer! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maestro connects with a body shot. A lazy left from Maestro finds it's target. A swing and a miss from Breischer. Breischer takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Breischer fails to land with a series of punches.
Breischer jabbing away but nothing is landing. Maestro lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Maestro with a hook. A telegraphed right hand from Breischer misses the target. Breischer takes a shot right to the bread basket. Maestro ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Maestro misses the body punch and Breischer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Breischer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Maestro. Breischer swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Maestro with a hook. Matija Maestro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A jab from Maestro finds it's way through Breischer's defenses. A shot to the liver by Maestro. Beautiful body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maestro lands a nice shot to the body.
Sloppy strikes from Breischer. Those never looked like landing. Maestro throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Breischer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Breischer walks into a stiff left hand from Maestro. Maestro tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Breischer was well out of range. Poor timing from Maestro. Breischer throws a hook to the side of Maestro's head but Maestro sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Breischer takes one to the chin there. Breischer gets tackled into the cage by Maestro. Maestro maintains the clinch. Breischer is trying to force a seperation but Maestro has the dominant position. Maestro lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Maestro pushes Breischer back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Breischer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Maestro lands with a nice body punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Maestro takes a swing at Breischer's ribcage but misses. Maestro comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Maestro tries to clinch but Breischer moves away and Breischer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Maestro scores with a shot to the body.
Maestro dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Maestro thuds his right hand into Breischer's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Maestro shoots in looking for a takedown but Breischer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Maestro's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Maestro getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Breischer throws a body shot but no joy. Maestro appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Maestro drives through with a takedown into Breischer's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Breischer controlling the position. Maestro pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Breischer is keeping the position for now. Maestro postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Breischer looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Breischer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maestro accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Breischer keeping full guard, as Maestro tries to pass. Maestro throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Breischer works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Breischer working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Maestro. Maestro trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Maestro lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maestro swings for the body but Breischer moves out of range.
A nice side step and Breischer releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Breischer's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Breischer duly obliges. Maestro is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Maestro is looking to wear down Breischer with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Maestro jabs at Breischer's body. Breischer misses with an uppercut. Maestro saw that one coming. The fight moves into the clinch position. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Maestro working some nice short punches in the clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A body shot lands from Maestro.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Matija Maestro dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Breischer keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Maestro. Breischer looks like he wants to counter punch here. Maestro swings and misses with a shot to the body and Breischer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Breischer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
It looked like Maestro was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Breischer. Breischer doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Maestro clinches up against the cage. Maestro changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Breischer fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Maestro listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Breischer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Breischer swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Breischer dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Maestro misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Breischer.
Maestro shoots in and gets a takedown into Breischer's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Maestro throws an elbow that misses. Breischer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Maestro's guard. Nice move by Breischer!
That's one minute gone in the round. Maestro escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Breischer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Breischer is sitting in close to Maestro's body. Maestro has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Breischer is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Breischer is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Maestro.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Matija Maestro! Our winner, Matija Maestro, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. Kert Breischer was interviewed post fight and said 'The MACHIIIIINNNNNNEEE!!!'.
