Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Dalton looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Dalton is taking a breather. Shart says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. He's bucked Dalton off and has taken his back! Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: Dalton (5) vs (4) Shart Dalton trying to control but not successfully. Shart is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Dalton is defending well though. Shart let's go of the attempt for now. Shart gets his hands free as Dalton looks to control. Dalton tries to escape but Shart has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Dalton just trying to survive but Shart is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Dalton staying busy and making it hard for Shart to control. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Dalton looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Dalton is working hard here to advance position. Dalton breaks Shart's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Dalton (7) vs (4) Shart Dalton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shart swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Dalton seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Shart controls Dalton momentarily but Dalton frees himself. Shart has his feet on Dalton's thighs here. He's pushed Dalton off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Dalton screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
