Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Caden Barrett (ranked 3550 p4p, 25344 weight class) and Thomas Banton (ranked 437 p4p, 585 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Caden Barrett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thomas Banton!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barrett moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Banton tries to clinch up but Barrett circles away and keeps his distance.
Banton slips under a jab.
Banton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Barrett but Barrett pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Banton slips a jab from Barrett.
Banton unleashes a big counter combination but Barrett bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Barrett throws a leg kick
and Banton counters with a takedown into side control.
Banton thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Banton is trying to get an arm triangle but Barrett is defending well.
Barrett tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Banton presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Barrett wants to control but Banton is having none of it.
Barrett knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Banton on the ground.
Barrett is looking to improve his position but Banton isn't that keen on the idea.
Banton is looking to stand but Barrett has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Barrett is trying to escape the mount.
Barrett is squirming around, avoiding Banton's attempts to control the action.
Barrett is just holding on here. Banton manages to take his back.
Barrett has hold of Banton's arm. He needs to escape this position sooner or later but for now he's happy enough to control the position and prevent the submission attempts.
Barrett is really stuck here.
Banton is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Banton biding his time, looking for the opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barrett wants to escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barrett preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Banton.
Banton has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Barrett has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Barrett is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Banton tries to keep control of the position but Barrett is staying busy.

Barrett tries to roll but Banton sticks to his back.

Banton is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Barrett throws a hook but Banton blocks it.
Barrett sets himself, and Banton steps forward looking for the clinch! Barrett avoids it this time.

and Banton counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Banton walks into a stiff left hand from Barrett.
Banton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Barrett circles away from the clinch attempt.
As Banton looks to move away, Barrett throws a big counter combo but Banton just gets out of the way.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Banton fails to land with a series of punches.
Barrett misses with a looping right.
Banton uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Barrett.
A telegraphed right hand from Barrett misses the target.
Barrett scores with a hook.
Barrett is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Barrett jabbing away but nothing is landing.
It seemed like Banton was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Barrett throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Banton sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Banton wants to counter the offense by Barrett and move into the clinch position.
Barrett misses with a looping right.
Banton uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Barrett.
Banton uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Barrett.
Banton avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Barrett sets himself, and Banton steps forward looking for the clinch! Barrett avoids it this time.
Barrett throws an overhand right that drops Banton like a sack of potatoes! Barrett dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
