The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Popkov lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Diop has managed to clinch.
Popkov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A big left from Diop misses.
Popkov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Diop throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Popkov counters with a two punch combo.
Diop wants to clinch.
Diop closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Popkov scores with a nice right hand.
Popkov bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Diop needs to keep his hands up - Popkov had a free shot at his head there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Diop closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Mikhail Popkov has been cut.
Popkov connects with a right hand. Diop shakes it off.
The fighters circle momentarily. Popkov darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Diop is rocked!
Whack! Popkov lands a heavy head kick that drops Diop. The ref tackles Popkov to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Diop was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Mikhail Popkov!
