Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Reynolds (ranked 3506 p4p, 3855 weight class) and King James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Reynolds had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Reynolds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King James!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James takes a swing at Reynolds's ribcage but misses.
James lands a head kick!
Reynolds misses with a takedown attempt - James sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
James staying out of range there.
A low kick lands for James.
James lands a leg kick that knocks Reynolds off balance momentarily.

Reynolds instigates a clinch.
James misses with some punches.

James breaks from the clinch.

Reynolds has managed to clinch.

Reynolds has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but James regains guard immediately.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Reynolds rushes James and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
James is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
James is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
James wants to break the clinch but can't.
James wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Reynolds is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Reynolds is trying to push James away but James has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

James follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if James can do anything to dispel that myth.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Reynolds connects with a nice short shot to James's temple.

King James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Reynolds throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around James's waist but James gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Reynolds off to one side.
