Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 30 - 1, fighting out of London, Jake Askren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kimchi Master!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Master looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Askren appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
We've been told by Askren's head coaches at Shut Up & Train! that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Nice jab there from Master.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Askren.
Master is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Askren decides to stand back up.
Master tries to clinch but Askren moves out of range.
Master tries to clinch up.
Master is looking to clinch but Askren is avoiding it.
Master throws a series of punches but Askren avoids them all with ease.
An attempted straight right counter from Askren misses the target.
Master fails in his attempt to clinch.
Askren half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Askren shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Askren was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Askren is looking to take a break and control but Master is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Master is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Askren asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Master really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Askren. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Askren stands up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Master throws out a powerful jab.

Askren shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Master's guard.
Master is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Askren is controlling him.
Askren stays in close to Master's body and controls the position.
Master can't keep his opponent in guard - Askren advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Well, if Askren is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza Yum. Can't wait.
Askren is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Master is trying to escape the mount but Askren keeps good control and instead manages to take Master's back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Askren is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Master taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Askren.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jake Askren!
After winning the bout, Jake Askren thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
