Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dick Niaz (ranked 901 p4p, 1616 weight class) and Deer Hunter (ranked 90 p4p, 160 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dick Niaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Deer Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niaz tries to clinch up.
Hunter misses with a leg kick.
Deer Hunter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Niaz closes the distance and pushes Hunter back into the cage.
Niaz avoiding damage.
Niaz fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Hunter trying to land knees to the body.
Hunter lands a nice shot to the body.
Niaz blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Niaz has Hunter pushed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunter tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Hunter lands a hook that snaps the head of Niaz backwards.
Niaz is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hunter to keep the fight standing.
Hunter lands a body shot in the clinch.

Hunter throws a head punch that misses.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Niaz blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Niaz blocks a punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Niaz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hunter walks away with a smile on his face. Niaz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dick Niaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hunter misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Niaz.
Hunter keeps the fight on the outside.

Niaz tries to clinch there but Hunter circles away.
Hunter tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Deer Hunter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Niaz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Niaz is fighting to break Hunter's control of his arms but Hunter is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Niaz tries to free his leg and advance position but Hunter is retaining full guard.
Niaz is working hard here to advance position.
Hunter is trying to control the position but Niaz postures up.
Hunter keeping moving, preventing Niaz from controlling successfully.
Hunter can't keep his opponent in guard - Niaz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Niaz is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hunter is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Niaz has latched onto it... Big trouble! Niaz pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Hunter is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Niaz!
