Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 38 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Michał Kowalkiewicz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 22 - 29 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kirov Sturmovik! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sturmovik throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kowalkiewicz counters with a straight right hand. Sturmovik misses with a left hand and Kowalkiewicz counters with an inside leg kick. Sturmovik lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Kowalkiewicz on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. We've been told by Kowalkiewicz's head coaches at Canadian Elite Bruins Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Kowalkiewicz shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Sturmovik throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kowalkiewicz counters with a lovely shot to the body. Sturmovik loads up on a big right hand but Kowalkiewicz slips the punch. Kowalkiewicz jabbing away but nothing is landing. Kowalkiewicz moves into range and connects with a jab.
It looks like Kirov Sturmovik has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kowalkiewicz moves away from the strike by Sturmovik. The crowd cheers as Kowalkiewicz lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sturmovik doesn't seem phased though. Kowalkiewicz with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Sturmovik misses with a hook. Kowalkiewicz ducked under it nicely. Some wild striking there from Sturmovik.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sturmovik misses with a lunging right hand
and Kowalkiewicz counters with a big right hook, that lands right on the temple! Sturmovik goes down! Kowalkiewicz rushes to a neutral corner to get the count going quickly. This one's going to be close! 3,4,5,6,7... Sturmovik is up to one knee.... 8,9....10! He didn't make it! This fight is over!
