Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Knox (ranked 1366 p4p, 1390 weight class) and Laar Gamounts (ranked 172 p4p, 178 weight class). Knox's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, "Hey Man Nice Shot" Filter. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gamounts cracks Knox with an open hand slap.
Gamounts lands with a cross.
Knox looks to land a right hand but Gamounts moved out of range.
Gamounts throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Knox tries to score a body lock takedown but Gamounts shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Knox throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Knox shoots in but no luck this time.
Gamounts fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Knox looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Knox connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Gamounts sends Knox crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Gamounts is motioning to the referee to let Knox up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Gamounts bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Knox's head backwards.
Oh Knox is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Knox counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Knox seems to have got his legs back now.
Gamounts with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Gamounts lands with an overhand left.
Gamounts drops Knox with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Knox looks back up at him and smiles so Gamounts waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Gamounts fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Knox manages to avoid it.
Gamounts throws an overhand right that lands on Knox's shoulder, as Knox tries to avoid the shot.
Knox walks straight into a right hand from Gamounts - that's dropped him! Gamounts jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Knox from any more punishment! Knox complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Laar Gamounts was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
