Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ramon Dekkers (ranked 3569 p4p, 2989 weight class) and Asher Simpson (ranked 271 p4p, 245 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ramon Dekkers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Asher Simpson!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Chris Dean and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dekkers sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Simpson scores with a jab to the body.
Dekkers stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Simpson.
Simpson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
It looked like Dekkers was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Dekkers tries to clinch up but Simpson circles away and keeps his distance.
Dekkers wants to land a leg kick but Simpson is out of range.
A left lands for Simpson.
Simpson lands with a good body shot.
Dekkers takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Simpson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dekkers tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Dekkers takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dekkers ducks right into an uppercut from Simpson.

Dekkers throws a head kick but Simpson moves out of range.
Simpson misses with the combination.
Simpson lands with a straight right. Dekkers didn't see that one coming.

Dekkers avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Simpson lands a nice shot that snaps Dekkers's head back.

Simpson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Dekkers throws a nice looking combination but Simpson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Simpson tries to keep at a distance but Dekkers has taken the fight into the clinch.

I was talking to Dekkers's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Simpson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Simpson works over Dekkers's head and body with a nice combination.
Dekkers dodges the punch combination from Simpson.

Dekkers tries to close the distance and clinch but Simpson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Simpson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Dekkers is out of range and Simpson settles back down.
Simpson lands the left hand.
Asher Simpson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Simpson. Dekkers does a little dance to reset his feet.

Dekkers has managed to clinch.
Dekkers avoiding damage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Simpson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Simpson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Dekkers appears to be looking for a big counter.
Simpson has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Simpson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dekkers counters with a series of strikes. Simpson will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Dekkers counters with a stiff right hand.
Dekkers uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Simpson.
Dekkers appears to be looking for a big counter.
Simpson throws a series of strikes that have Dekkers backpedaling.
Simpson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Dekkers moves in looking to clinch but Simpson pushes him off.
Simpson thuds his shin into the meat of Dekkers's side.
Simpson slips a jab and a cross from Dekkers.
Dekkers has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Dekkers there as he acknowledges the shot.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Simpson cracks Dekkers with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Asher Simpson seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Simpson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Dekkers has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Simpson tries to bum rush Dekkers with a series of wild strikes but Dekkers uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Dekkers went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Simpson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dekkers drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dekkers moves in looking to clinch but Simpson pushes him off.
Simpson looks to throw the jab but Dekkers is out of range.
Simpson tries to land a front kick but Dekkers steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Dekkers tries to clinch there but Simpson circles away.
Dekkers looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Simpson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Simpson throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Dekkers is rocked!
Dekkers wants to clinch but Simpson slips to the side
and Simpson counters with a one-two to the body.
Oh Dekkers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Simpson lands a big head kick that sends Dekkers to the canvas! Simpson follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Asher Simpson!
Asher Simpson spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
