Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kawan Kayem! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sejun Park! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kayem swats away the attempt to clinch by Park. Kayem paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Kayem jabs at Park's body. Kayem fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Despite the aggression on Park's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Kayem connects with a crisp jab. Park moves in looking to clinch but Kayem pushes him off. Kayem lands with a cross. The fight stays on the outside here - Park looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Park on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A punch lands to the side of Park 's head but he takes it in his stride. Park wants to clinch up but Kayem keeps it at a distance. An attempted straight right counter from Kayem misses the target. Kawan Kayem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Park wants to clinch but Kayem slips to the side and Kayem counters with a nice uppercut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Park has Kayem up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Park gets through Kayem's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Park tries to throw a body punch but Kayem avoids it by throwing Park back against the cage. Park misses with a short punch on the inside. Park lands a good knee to the midsection. Kayem won't want to take too many of those. Kayem drops down looking for an ankle pick but Park pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kayem ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Park drops his hands momentarily and Kayem takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Park tries to clinch up and Park takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Park tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kayem paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kayem lands a nice shot to the body.
Park looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Park uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kayem.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Park drops his hands momentarily and Kayem takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Nice shot lands for Kayem. Park wants to clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Park rushes Kayem and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Park crunches a lovely knee into Kayem's ribcage. Park lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Park lands a knee to the head.
Kayem is breathing heavily. Park lands a good knee to the midsection. Kayem won't want to take too many of those. A knee to the head by Park.
Kayem is rocked! Park lands with a light punch inside. Oh Kayem is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Park lands a nice knee to the body. Park cracks Kayem on the chin with a massive knee! He's been separated from consciousness before he even hits the floor! Absolutely fantastic knee and a brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Sejun Park! An intense looking Sejun Park took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Shou out to my boy pachirisu, and vote for Boe Jiden 2025'.
