Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Okropir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Travis Guenette!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guenette tries to score a power double leg takedown but Okropir sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Guenette somewhat.
Guenette shoots in for a double leg but Okropir sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Guenette manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Okropir on his heels. He'll look to pass Okropir's guard now, I'm sure.
Guenette should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Guenette loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Okropir is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Guenette working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Okropir is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Okropir tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Guenette manages to move to mount!
Okropir keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Okropir is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Okropir is wriggling around trying to escape.
Guenette is landing with some decent strikes but Okropir is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Okropir wants to hold on but Guenette pushes him away.
Guenette punishing his opponent with strikes.
Guenette takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Guenette looking to control but Okropir is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Guenette controlling from mount.
Guenette lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Okropir knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Guenette on the ground.

Guenette controlling the position easily from mount.

Okropir wants to hold on but Guenette pushes him away.
Okropir stops Guenette from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Okropir sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Guenette is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Guenette is trying to control the action in half guard but Okropir is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Travis Guenette dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Guenette decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Guenette performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Okropir wants to improve his position but Guenette is controlling well.

Guenette is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Okropir throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Guenette is trying to control. Okropir wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Guenette connects with a nice short shot to Okropir's temple.

Guenette decides to stand and escape the position.
Okropir goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Okropir throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Guenette doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Okropir takes a swing at Guenette's ribcage but misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Okropir looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Peter Okropir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Okropir scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Guenette misses with a takedown attempt - Okropir sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Guenette changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Okropir looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Guenette scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Okropir to see if he's OK.
Guenette fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Travis Guenette has got the better of the ground game so far.
Okropir is looking for a sweep.

Guenette stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Okropir misses with a hook.
A countering left hand to the body from Guenette misses.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Okropir enables Guenette to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Okropir manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Guenette has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Guenette is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Let's hope that Guenette has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Guenette advances to half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Guenette in particular looking to stall.
Okropir is looking for a sweep. Guenette is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Guenette is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Okropir is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Travis Guenette!
Travis Guenette decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
