Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lars Kay (ranked 1063 p4p, 985 weight class) and Giacomo Bandolero (ranked 84 p4p, 77 weight class). Bandolero has chosen Bandolero as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 21 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lars Kay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 20 - 0, fighting out of London, Giacomo Bandolero! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bandolero connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kay's hands. Bandolero moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Bandolero tries a head kick but it misses.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bandolero. Nice shot by Kay. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bandolero has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Bandolero closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Kay is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bandolero. Bandolero shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kay eats them both and turns towards Bandolero to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Kay moves out of range as Bandolero throws a body kick.
Bandolero tries to score with a low kick but Kay moves his leg out of the way. Bandolero is looking to clinch but Kay is avoiding it.
It looked like Kay wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Bandolero tries to bum rush Kay with a series of wild strikes but Kay uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bandolero lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Kay looks to land a left hand but Bandolero moved out of range nicely. Kay walks into a jab. Nice takedown defense from Bandolero. No joy for Kay on that attempt. Bandolero closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kay quickly recovers to half guard. Kay is trying to get back to full guard. Bandolero is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kay defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kay tries to roll over but Bandolero keeps him under control. Bandolero is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kay doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bandolero. Bandolero is trying to control. Kay wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Kay makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kay. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bandolero postures up in Kay's guard and throws a big left but Kay blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bandolero makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Bandolero throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Bandolero throws an elbow that misses. Kay uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bandolero's guard. Nice move by Kay! Kay landing some decent shots from guard. Kay stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bandolero swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've been hearing that Kay has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Kay missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kay throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bandolero works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bandolero is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kay stands up over Bandolero, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Bandolero avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bandolero controls Kay momentarily but Kay frees himself. Kay trying to control the position from guard on top but Bandolero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kay in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Bandolero looking for a sweep. Not yet Bandolero, not yet. Bandolero scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Sloppy strikes from Bandolero. Those never looked like landing. Bandolero tries to land a body kick and Kay counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Bandolero throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Bandolero pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Kay back to the cage. Bandolero follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Kay closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Kay lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kay has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bandolero after a bit of a struggle. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bandolero tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kay just stands there and leans against the cage. Kay scores with an uppercut up the middle. Bandolero is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kay to keep the fight standing. Kay struggles to land a body shot inside as Bandolero controls his hands.
Kay is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Kay tries to throw a body punch but Bandolero avoids it by throwing Kay back against the cage. Kay drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bandolero pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lars Kay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bandolero scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Bandolero working the head and body with strikes. Bandolero tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bandolero has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Kay tries to buck Bandolero off but Bandolero is having none of it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Giacomo Bandolero dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Bandolero blocks a jab. Kay misses the shot to the body. Kay takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Giacomo Bandolero seems to be getting the better of the standup. Bandolero throws a leg kick but Kay checks it. Bandolero displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Bandolero closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bandolero lands in his opponent's guard. Kay looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kay utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Bandolero has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bandolero is looking to work some ground and pound but Kay has wrist control. Kay keeping moving, preventing Bandolero from controlling successfully. Bandolero is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kay working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bandolero. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Kay has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Bandolero has passed into side control.
Kay is trying to work for a sweep but Bandolero has mounted him! Bandolero trying to control but Kay is having none of it. Bandolero punishing his opponent with strikes. Giacomo Bandolero has got the better of the ground game so far. Bandolero scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Bandolero wants to control the pace but Kay is squirming around nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bandolero stands up from mount. Strange move. Bandolero takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Bandolero shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bandolero was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Bandolero is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kay knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bandolero tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bandolero has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bandolero wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kay, who protects the arm well. Bandolero thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kay tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kay is working hard here to advance position. Kay takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Bandolero tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Kay tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bandolero wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bandolero misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Bandolero has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Kay! Kay is trying desperately to improve position. Bandolero is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kay to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kay shrugs it off. Kay is trying desperately to improve position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bandolero cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Kay is looking to get to half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Giacomo Bandolero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Bandolero misses with a low kick. Bandolero fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kay sprawls well initially but Bandolero persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Kay actively working from the bottom here. Kay actively working from the bottom here. Kay wants to improve his position but Bandolero is controlling well.
Nice strikes from Bandolero there. Bandolero is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kay tries to get to full guard but Bandolero has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kay has hold of Bandolero's hands but Bandolero slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Bandolero trying to control from half guard but Kay is working away. Kay is looking to get back to full guard here but Bandolero has managed to pass to side control instead. Bandolero tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Bandolero goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kay has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bandolero but great work by Kay. Kay throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Bandolero works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Kay will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bandolero taking some punishment here, with Kay in his half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bandolero avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kay. Kay thows a huge punch but Bandolero dodges it nicely.
Kay slips a nice elbow through Bandolero's hands, connecting with Bandolero's forehead. Kay throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Bandolero is pressing down on Kay's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Kay prevents Bandolero from getting back to his feet. Kay throwing strikes from guard but Bandolero blocks nicely. Bandolero wants to sweep here but Kay controlling him for the moment. Bandolero utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Kay throwing strikes from guard but Bandolero blocks nicely.

Giacomo Bandolero is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Bandolero controls Kay momentarily but Kay frees himself. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bandolero wants to sweep here but Kay controlling him for the moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Bandolero misses with a few strikes there.

And that's the end of the fight! Giacomo Bandolero comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Bandolero winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
