This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 80 wins and 79 losses; Able Archer! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 40 wins and 26 losses; John McCain! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. McCain scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Archer (0) vs (2) McCain The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McCain tries to pass the half guard into mount. Archer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Archer regains full guard. Nicely done. Archer controlling the position. Archer looking for a sweep. Not yet Archer, not yet. McCain seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
