Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alvin turner!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McTavish looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

turner rushes McTavish and presses him up against the cage.

McTavish breaks from the clinch.

turner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McTavish sprawls well initially but turner persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
McTavish punching from the bottom.

turner escapes and gets back to his feet.
McTavish swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
turner avoids the head kick by McTavish.

turner has McTavish up against the cage in a clinch.

turner breaks the clinch.
McTavish thows a body shot but no joy.
turner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
turner goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Nice sprawl there from turner as McTavish shoots in.
turner is looking to clinch.
McTavish fails with the takedown

and turner counters with a nice double leg into side control. McTavish won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

turner gets in close and instigates a clinch.

turner decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
turner thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing McTavish to regain full guard.
turner tries to stand but McTavish is controlling from the bottom.
turner looks gassed!

turner got a little sloppy there for a moment and McTavish has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, turner has managed to get both his arms back between McTavish's legs - danger averted.
McTavish looking for a sweep. Not yet McTavish, not yet.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

turner takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
McTavish wants to hold on but turner pushes him away.
McTavish is trying desperately to improve position.
turner looking to control but McTavish is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
You get the feeling that McTavish really doesn't like being in this position too much.
turner sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
turner throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
McTavish tries to hold on but turner postures up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McTavish is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, turner cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



McTavish bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
turner is looking to regain half guard here but McTavish keeps moving and retains side control.
McTavish passes to full mount! That's big trouble for turner!
McTavish lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

turner defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from McTavish.

McTavish has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McTavish manages to capitalize on a mistake by turner to take his back!
