PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dimitri Elf (ranked 3826 p4p, 3803 weight class) and Maximo Butler (ranked 0 p4p, 198 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Butler wants to control from the top but Elf keeps moving.

Butler is fighting to break Elf's control of his arms but Elf is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Elf wants to stand but Butler is controlling his arm.

Butler manages to stand up with Elf still on his back. Eventually Elf drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dimitri Elf will probably get the nod.

Horrible takedown attempt by Butler or perhaps it was just good defense by Elf, which made it look bad.

Elf has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Butler uses from the top position.

Butler must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Elf throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Butler gets to his feet - Elf follows without any prompting.
Butler misses with a takedown attempt - Elf sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Butler fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Elf avoids it really well and circles away.

Butler decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Elf, up you get!

Maximo Butler comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
