The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Hughes closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gardener quickly recovers to half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Hughes (2) vs (0) Gardener Hughes seems to be working for a kimura but Gardener defends the submission attempt.
