Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Honore Nazaire Rey (ranked 2808 p4p, 25355 weight class) and Thomas Banton (ranked 332 p4p, 495 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Thomas Banton enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Honore Nazaire Rey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thomas Banton! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rey stuffs the takedown. Banton tries to keep at a distance but Rey has taken the fight into the clinch. Rey makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Rey breaks from the clinch.
Rey has Banton up against the cage in a clinch.
Banton is trying to force a seperation but Rey has the dominant position. A bit of stalling here from Rey.
Banton goes for a takedown attempt but Rey pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A cross from Rey lands. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Banton ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Rey clinches up with Banton and pushes him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Banton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rey takes the fight into the clinch. Rey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Honore Nazaire Rey is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rey fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Banton on the side of the head. Banton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rey manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. It looked like Rey wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Banton with a poor takedown enabling Rey to counter with a crisp jab. Honore Nazaire Rey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Banton. Rey misses the jab. Banton with the counter takedown but Rey avoids it easily. Banton is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Rey is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Banton. Rey forces Banton back against the cage and clinches. Rey controlling the action here for a moment.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Rey for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rey pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Banton gets tackled into the cage by Rey. Rey maintains the clinch. Banton is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Rey is defending well. Banton stalling in the clinch but Rey improves position. Banton is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rey pulls him back up using the underhooks. Rey blocks an uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Banton tries to pull guard but Rey holds him up against the cage and eventually Banton drops back down to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rey stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Banton is still on wobbly legs! Can Rey finish him? The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Rey throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Rey pushes Banton against the cage. Rey is working some dirty boxing. Rey pushes off with a quick right hook! Banton goes down! Banton tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Rey moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Honore Nazaire Rey! After the fight, Honore Nazaire Rey was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
