Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Niti Sietch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Pereira!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sietch looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Pereira moves into the clinch.

Pereira has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Sietch regains guard immediately.
Pereira wants to control from the top but Sietch keeps moving.

Pereira gets to his feet. Sietch looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Pereira rushes Sietch and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Pereira wants to take a breather but Sietch is having none of it.

Pereira thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Pereira wants to take a breather but Sietch is having none of it.
Pereira tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sietch knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Sietch is staying active underneath Pereira, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sietch wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pereira fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sietch sprawls well initially but Pereira persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Pereira is keen to just control but Sietch is a slippery customer.

Pereira is trying to control the action in half guard but Sietch is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Pereira is looking for a kimura here.
Sietch is trying to stand up here but Pereira is controlling him well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pereira content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jose Pereira just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pereira shoots for a double leg takedown but Sietch sprawls well. He's pushed Pereira's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Pereira changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sietch tries to avoid it but Pereira manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sietch to the ground. Sietch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pereira takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Sietch swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Pereira counters with a takedown into side control.
Sietch parries the strikes from Pereira easily there. Pereira is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sietch to escape.
Pereira is looking to take a break and control but Sietch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sietch wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Pereira decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Sietch throws a body punch but Pereira moves out of range.

Pereira closes the distance and clinches.
Pereira fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Niti Sietch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Pereira.
Pereira jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sietch walks away with a smile on his face. Pereira gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Pereira scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Pereira seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Jose Pereira showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Pereira gets control of Sietch's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pereira will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Sietch has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Pereira controls Sietch momentarily but Sietch frees himself.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Pereira is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Pereira takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sietch is trying to stand back up but Pereira is controlling him

Sietch pushes Pereira off looking to stand but Pereira dives back in and keeps control.

Sietch is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Pereira has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Pereira working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Pereira just content to control the position.
Sloppy strikes there by Pereira.
Pereira trying to control the action but Sietch is working from the bottom.
Sietch wants to get back to his feet but Pereira drags him back down.

Jose Pereira comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pereira has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
