Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Floyd Gayweather! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robbie Shakespeare! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shakespeare throws the left hand but Gayweather avoids the punch easily. Shakespeare jabbing away but nothing is landing. Shakespeare's coach down at The Purpose Martial Arts Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Shakespeare's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Gayweather connects with a jab. Shakespeare pivots, looking for a leg kick but Gayweather is out of range and Shakespeare settles back down. Gayweather cracks Shakespeare with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Robbie Shakespeare has been cut. Gayweather misses with a few strikes there.

Gayweather fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Shakespeare looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Shakespeare throws out a loose jab but Gayweather uses good head movement to avoid it. Gayweather getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Gayweather fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shakespeare manages to avoid it. Gayweather throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Shakespeare sees it coming and avoids it easily. Shakespeare throws a left and a right that both miss
and Gayweather counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Shakespeare thinking. Shakespeare sizes up Gayweather with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. This has been an exciting period of action! Shakespeare misses with a looping right. An attempted straight right counter from Gayweather misses the target. Gayweather throws a series of punches but Shakespeare avoids them all with ease.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shakespeare misses with an uppercut. Gayweather saw that one coming. Gayweather swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Gayweather misses with the combination.
Gayweather defending well as Shakespeare loads up on a big left hand. Nice defenses there by Gayweather. A little feinted left hand from Gayweather on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Shakespeare scores with a jab. Gayweather acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Gayweather scores with a nice head shot. Shakespeare misses with a double jab.
Robbie Shakespeare seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gayweather lands a glancing blow to the side of Shakespeare's head. Gayweather ducks right into an uppercut from Shakespeare. Gayweather scores with a nice strike. Shakespeare throws out a loose jab but Gayweather uses good head movement to avoid it. Gayweather was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Shakespeare misses with an uppercut. Gayweather saw that one coming. A counter left hand to the body from Gayweather misses its target. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Shakespeare throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Nice straight punches there by Gayweather. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gayweather. Gayweather misses with an uppercut. Shakespeare saw that one coming. Gayweather jabbing away but nothing is landing. Shakespeare let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. A cross from Shakespeare lands. Gayweather keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Shakespeare throws an overhand right that lands on Gayweather's shoulder, as Gayweather tries to avoid the shot. Gayweather seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Shakespeare takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Shakespeare looks to land a right hand but Gayweather moved out of range. Shakespeare throws a hook to the side of Gayweather's head but Gayweather sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Shakespeare wants to land a leg kick but Gayweather is out of range. It looked like Gayweather was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shakespeare with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gayweather to score with a decent uppercut. Shakespeare throws a monster overhand right that drops Gayweather! Shakespeare follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Our winner, Robbie Shakespeare, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
