Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alan West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 34 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diego Hageman!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hageman misses with a takedown attempt - West sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hageman moves in looking to clinch but West pushes him off.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from West is defended easily by Hageman.

West closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hageman quickly recovers to half guard.

Hageman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as West controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

West tries to advance to mount but can't.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
West looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

West shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hageman keeping hold of West's head, controlling as best he can.

West wants to take a breather but Hageman is having none of it.
Hageman has his hands clasped together around West's back. He's all about the action.
Hageman is looking to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hageman gets full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! West's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Hageman tries to sprawl but West drives through with a takedown into half guard.
West tries to pass to full mount but Hageman defends it.

West stalling away here and it's allowed Hageman to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

West slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hageman wants to clinch up but West keeps it at a distance.
West will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
West closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hageman circles away.
Hageman wants to counter with a clinch but West pushes him away.
Hageman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alan West. That's going to take a lot out of him.
West slips a jab and a cross from Hageman.
It looked like West wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Alan West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hageman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

West fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hageman sprawls well initially but West persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hageman is staying active underneath West, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hageman manages to get to full guard.

West has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Hageman to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! West is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Hageman pulls down on the head and he's put West to sleep! This one is all over!
