Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 59 - 39 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jax Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 57 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sota Sankari!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters circling a little - Thomas finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Sankari looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Thomas lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sankari at a distance.
Thomas moves into the clinch.
Thomas working Sankari over with knees to the body.
Thomas definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Thomas stalling against the ropes.
Sankari takes a knee right on the jaw!
Thomas digs a right hand underneath Sankari's ribcage. Sankari let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Thomas manages to break the clinch.
Thomas could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Thomas!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thomas ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Thomas moves into range and clinches up with Sankari.
Thomas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Thomas moves into the clinch.
The referee calls for Thomas to work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Thomas lands a good knee to the midsection. Sankari won't want to take too many of those.
Thomas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Thomas is stalking his opponent - BOOM! Switch kick out of nowhere! Sankari is not moving; he is out cold!! Wow, what a quick finish that was.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jax Thomas!
