Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Moody (ranked 2781 p4p, 24146 weight class) and William Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moody comes to the cage accompanied by New Authentic - The Abyss. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tommy Moody! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, William Ward! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moody throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Ward moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Moody is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Ward avoids the head kick by Moody.

No joy there for Moody, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Moody scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Ward moves out of range of the strikes.
Ward changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Moody looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Moody is trying to get back to half guard. Moody on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Ward wants to lay and pray for a moment but Moody keeps working.
Ward tries for a kimura but Moody is defending well. The referee asks Ward politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ward prefers to stall for the moment though.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Ward working the head and body with strikes. Moody tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ward wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Moody is working hard here to advance position. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Ward working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Ward tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ward has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Ward trying to control the position but Moody is working away. Ward working the ground and pound.

Ward thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Moody knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ward on the ground. Ward scoring with punches from side control. Ward landing a few strikes. Moody is looking for a sweep.
Ward is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Moody is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Moody manages to work his way to half guard, despite Ward's best efforts. Ward scoring with strikes to the body and head. Ward with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Moody has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ward is working away from the top position though. Moody tries to get to full guard but Ward has control of the leg. Moody trying to control but Ward postures up.
Ward is nestled in close to Moody, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Moody tries to roll over but Ward keeps him under control. Ward working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Ward is working for a submission of some sort.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Moody wants to improve his position but Ward is controlling well.
Moody has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ward is working away from the top position though. Moody looks like he's trying to stand up.

William Ward dominated that round. The cut man is working on William Ward's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A big right from Moody misses. Moody walks into a left hand. Ward misses with a takedown attempt - Moody sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Moody changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Moody tries to land a front kick but Ward steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Ward cracks Moody with an open hand slap. A head kick from Moody lands but Ward takes it in his stride. Moody looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Ward throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Moody tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ward is in Moody's guard. Ward controlling from the top position. Ward postures up and lands a big shot to Moody's brow. Ward has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Ward won't allow Moody to sweep him here. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Ward is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Moody is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Moody is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Moody is looking to take a break and control but Ward is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ward is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Moody is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Ward has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Moody stalling away here and it's allowed Ward to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Ward is pulling down on Moody's head. It's preventing any offense from Moody, at least for the moment. Ward striking off his back but it's not causing Moody any problems. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ward looking to hit a scissor sweep but Moody is one step ahead there. Moody trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ward is adopting a defensive guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Ward manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Moody manages to get himself to full guard.
Moody controls Ward momentarily but Ward frees himself. Ward content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Moody trying to keep a closed guard but Ward is proving a slippery customer.
Moody avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ward's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Ward is stalling in the full guard. Ward chips away with some ground and pound.

Moody has his foot on Ward's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ward works his way back into a safe position though. Moody is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ward slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Ward postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Moody is trying to control the position but Ward postures up. Ward tries to free his leg and advance position but Moody is retaining full guard. Moody not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ward keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Moody's head. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ward scoring with punches to the head and body. Ward sitting in guard, not really doing much. Moody working a defensive guard here.

William Ward showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on William Ward's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Oh Moody is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! William Ward has got the better of the ground game so far. Ward is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Moody is trying to control the position from the bottom.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Ward stays in close to Moody's body and controls the position. Ward pushes down on Moody's leg and manages to get into half guard. Moody has hold of Ward's hands but Ward slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Moody on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Ward scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Ward scoring with strikes to the body and head. Moody is pressing down on Ward's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Ward slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Moody controls Ward momentarily but Ward frees himself.
Ward drops back looking for a leg! Moody is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Moody manages to kick Ward off! Ward jumps back into Moody's guard. Ward is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Moody says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Moody is looking for a sweep. Ward is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Moody is trying to stand up here but Ward is controlling him well. William Ward is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ward lands a nice short elbow. Moody is trying to control but can't.

Moody looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Ward is continuing to stall. Moody wants to control but Ward is keeping busy and won't allow it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ward slows the pace down in half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! William Ward comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Ward winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
