This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 33 wins and 22 losses; Shane Goble!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Mondragon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Goble felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

It looks like Goble might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Goble got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mondragon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Goble has managed to get both his arms back between Mondragon's legs - danger averted.
Goble seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
