Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sickwat Dan (ranked 2917 p4p, 2708 weight class) and Randell Robertson (ranked 0 p4p, 244 weight class). Randell Robertson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sickwat Dan ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Randell Robertson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Robertson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dan to score an easy takedown into full guard. Dan is pushing down on Robertson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Robertson is fighting to maintain full guard but Dan has managed to sneak the leg through. Robertson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Robertson trying to hold on to Dan 's head to control him but Dan postures up.
Dan seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dan wants to pass to mount but Robertson is defending the position. Dan landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dan content to control rather than advance. Dan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Robertson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Robertson wants to control but Dan is keeping busy and won't allow it. Dan not doing much here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Dan closes the distance and clinches. Dan lands a right hand that snaps the head of Robertson backwards. Dan lands a shoulder strike. Dan lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Robertson backwards. Robertson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dan pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dan is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Dan lands a right hand. Robertson is trying to force a seperation but Dan has the dominant position. Robertson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dan just stands there and leans against the cage. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Dan obliges. Robertson looks winded! Robertson managing to block the knees to the body from Dan .
Dan lands with a short head shot on the inside. Dan lands a right hand.
Robertson is rocked! Robertson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Robertson is still on wobbly legs! Can Dan finish him? Dan lands with a right to the head. Robertson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dan walks away with a smile on his face. Robertson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Sickwat Dan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randell Robertson. Dan scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Robertson doesn't seem bothered though. Dan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! You can see the frustration on Robertson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Robertson seems to have recovered his senses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dan slows the pace down. Dan advances to full mount. Dan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Dan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Robertson for as long as he can get away with. Dan 's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Sickwat Dan dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Dan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Robertson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Dan wants to pass the guard but Robertson is keeping the position. Dan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Robertson working a defensive guard but Dan passes into half guard.
Dan stalling. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Robertson tries to roll over but Dan keeps him under control. Robertson won't allow Dan to pass to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dan controlling the pace. Dan works his way into side control. Robertson tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Dan presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Dan sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Dan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Robertson can do to turn this around?
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Robertson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Robertson working to try and regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dan with a couple of short strikes. Dan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Robertson is desperately trying to improve his position but Dan has a good base and remains in mount. Dan controlling from the full mount. Dan with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dan sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dan continues to stall. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Sickwat Dan dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Dan closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Robertson's guard. Robertson can't keep his opponent in guard - Dan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Robertson is trying to get back to full guard. Dan wants to free his trapped foot but Robertson is holding on for dear life with his legs. Dan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Robertson is trying to maintain the position but Dan is very close to passing his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dan wants to pass to mount but Robertson is defending the position. Dan sitting and controlling from the half guard. Robertson tries to get to full guard but Dan has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Robertson keeps trying to improve his position. Dan controlling the action here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Dan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Robertson quickly recovers to half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dan in particular looking to stall. Sickwat Dan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dan is working for a submission of some sort.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. This is a sustained period of stalling by Dan . Robertson gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Dan looking to control and managing it successfully. Robertson tries to hold on but Dan postures up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dan controlling the pace for now. Randell Robertson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! Sickwat Dan showed his dominance in that final round. Well Dan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
