This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 5 losses; Morgan Leighton! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 5 losses; Dan Dinker! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.

Leighton moves into the clinch successfully.
Leighton wants a takedown.
Leighton has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dinker avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Dinker has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Leighton is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Leighton drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dinker gets the underhooks and prevents it.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Dinker wants to control but Leighton is having none of it. Leighton looking to control and managing it successfully. Dinker has given up his back - I don�t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Leighton controls the action. Dinker trying to control but not successfully. You can see the frustration on Dinker's face� He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dinker for as long as he can get away with. Leighton has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

 That's eight minutes gone in the round. Leighton's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Dinker rolls, trying to escape but Leighton keeps control of the position.

Dinker is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Leighton gets his way!
