Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shingen Takeda (ranked 2687 p4p, 1653 weight class) and Marc Horton (ranked 239 p4p, 164 weight class). Takeda comes to the cage accompanied by Now We Are Free. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shingen Takeda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marc Horton!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeda on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Horton. Horton obviously looking to wear him down.
Horton dives in and grabs Takeda's left leg, looking for a takedown. Takeda pushes down on Horton's head and hops out.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Horton has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Takeda tries to close the distance and clinch but Horton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Takeda throws a body shot but no joy.
A nice leg kick from Takeda, right into the meat of the thigh.
Takeda falls off balance throwing a combination
and Horton counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Takeda trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Horton scoring with punches to the head and body.
Takeda looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horton postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Horton content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Takeda has locked up a guillotine! Takeda's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Horton is holding on here and Takeda must be using up a lot of energy. Horton has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Takeda gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Shingen Takeda!
