Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Triston Santos (ranked 2764 p4p, 3278 weight class) and Finley Cowan (ranked 251 p4p, 280 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Triston Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Finley Cowan!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Santos throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Cowan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Santos sprawls well initially but Cowan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Santos scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Cowan manages to mount him!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Cowan lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Cowan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Santos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Santos tries to get out of the position.
Cowan in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Santos really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Cowan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Santos's face.
Cowan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cowan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Santos wants to hold on but Cowan pushes him away.

Santos is squirming around, avoiding Cowan's attempts to control the action.
Cowan lands a big elbow.
Cowan is landing with some decent strikes but Santos is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Santos wants to control but Cowan is having none of it.

Santos looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Cowan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Santos is looking to escape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Santos is in a horrible position here. Cowan smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Cowan lands a couple of good shots and Santos has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Cowan is hanging on to Santos's back as he tries to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cowan is punishing Santos with strikes - can he finish him?!
Santos trying to control the position but Cowan manages to sink in the hooks.
Cowan controlling well, preventing Santos from escaping the position.
Santos just trying to survive but Cowan is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Cowan has Santos flattened out and is raining down punches.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Finley Cowan dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Cowan misses with a straight right.
Cowan shoots for a takedown but Santos saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Santos is looking to counter the offense by Cowan and move into the clinch.
Cowan throws a sloppy head kick and Santos moves out of range easily.
Santos was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Cowan shoots in for a double leg but Santos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A head kick misses from Cowan.
Cowan fails with a takedown attempt.
Triston Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Finley Cowan.
Santos misses with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cowan throws a hook but Santos blocks it.
Santos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cowan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Santos tries to bum rush Cowan with a series of wild strikes but Cowan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And Cowan tries to counter it with a takedown but Santos pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Cowan throws a lazy head kick
and Santos counters with a left and a right that stings Cowan.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Santos checks a low kick from Cowan.
Santos digs a good hook to Cowan's body.
Santos throws an overhand right that lands on Cowan's shoulder, as Cowan tries to avoid the shot.
Cowan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Santos defends well and Cowan ends up having to push Santos into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Cowan misses with a straight right.
Santos lands a jab to the nose.
Cowan shoots in looking for a takedown but Santos manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cowan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Cowan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Santos sprawls well. Santos wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cowan gets slowly back to his feet.
Santos feints a jab promting Cowan to slip. Santos then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cowan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cowan takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Santos avoids the body shot from Cowan.
Santos throws a big shot that misses.
Cowan walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Santos jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Cowan slips under a jab.
Santos is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Cowan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Santos swats him away and circles back towards the center.
As Cowan looks to move away, Santos throws a big counter combo but Cowan just gets out of the way.
Cowan misses with a takedown attempt - Santos sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A quick step to the side and Santos tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cowan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

and Santos counters with a straight right hand.

Cowan is rocked!
Santos throws a series of punches but Cowan moves out of range.
Cowan misses with a head kick.
It looked like Santos wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Triston Santos is winning the standup battle so far.
Santos pounces like a tiger and cracks Cowan with a vicious hook! Cowan is down but not out! Santos follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Triston Santos!
Triston Santos tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
