Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryland Bronx (ranked 3301 p4p, 2740 weight class) and Marcus Vellitis (ranked 279 p4p, 244 weight class). Bronx's entrance music is New Authentic - Rain Storm. A fine choice. Marcus Vellitis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryland Bronx!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Vellitis!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Bruno Hogan and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vellitis swings for the body but Bronx moves out of range.
Bronx attempts a counter takedown but Vellitis avoids it well and moves away.
Marcus Vellitis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vellitis lands a right hook to the body.
Vellitis pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bronx back to the cage. Vellitis follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Vellitis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Bronx counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Bronx is looking to advance position but Vellitis won't allow it.
Vellitis is trying to maintain the position but Bronx is very close to passing his half guard.
Bronx seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vellitis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Bronx looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Bronx decides to stand up, so the ref orders Vellitis to his feet.

Bronx changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Vellitis throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bronx sees it coming and avoids it easily.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Vellitis has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Bronx moves out of range of the strikes.
Vellitis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Vellitis just misses with a punch to the body.
A combination from Vellitis does no damage.

No luck for Vellitis with that takedown attempt.

Bronx changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Vellitis misses the shot to the body.
Vellitis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bronx pinned against the cage. Bronx gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ryland Bronx has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Vellitis.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Vellitis looks to land a combination but Bronx avoids it well.
Bronx drops down looking for a counter takedown but Vellitis sprawls and moves away.
Vellitis is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Vellitis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bronx feinted with a counter takedown.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ryland Bronx will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Vellitis gets the takedown into side control.
Vellitis trying to control the position but Bronx is working away.
Bronx knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vellitis on the ground.
Vellitis is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Ryland Bronx overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bronx tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Vellitis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Bronx is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Vellitis off and has taken his back!

Bronx thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Vellitis can't escape the position.
Vellitis just trying to survive but Bronx is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Vellitis is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Vellitis trying to control the action but Bronx just sinks the hooks in.
Bronx will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

I would not like to be Vellitis right now.
Bronx lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Vellitis hold on?!
Bronx really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Vellitis is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bronx is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Vellitis is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Bronx controlling the positon.
Bronx tries to get the hooks in deep but Vellitis pushed the leg off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vellitis wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Bronx.
BOOM! Bronx connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Vellitis is desperately trying to improve his position but Bronx has a good base and remains in mount.
Vellitis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Bronx trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Bronx has hold of Vellitis's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Vellitis manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bronx avoids the attempt from Vellitis to control.

Vellitis is in all sorts of trouble here.
Bronx wants to control the pace but Vellitis is squirming around nicely.
Bronx sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Vellitis sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Bronx wants to pass to mount but Vellitis is defending the position.
Bronx has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Bronx throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Vellitis is bucking up trying to escape but Bronx cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Vellitis tries to lock up and control but Bronx gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vellitis is in a horrible position here. Bronx smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Vellitis is rocked!
Bronx looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Vellitis covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

After winning the bout, Ryland Bronx thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
