This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 51 wins and 40 losses; Leonardinho Chai! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Scott looking to score a takedown here. Chai is defending well but Scott drives through and ends up in Chai's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Scott (2) vs (0) Chai The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Chai can't keep his opponent in guard - Scott advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Chai trying to control from the bottom.
Scott content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Chai is trying to control but can't.
Scott will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Scott is figuring out what he wants to do next. Scott is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Chai reverses the position - he's now on top in Scott's guard. Chai is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Scott has Chai pulled in close to control his posture.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Chai looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Chai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Scott swivels though and keeps the full guard. Scott keeping moving, preventing Chai from controlling successfully.

Chai tries to free his leg and advance position but Scott is retaining full guard. Scott pulls Chai in close to prevent any damage. Scott looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Scott is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Scott continues to stall. Chai trying to control but Scott is working from the bottom. Scott controls Chai momentarily but Chai frees himself.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Chai wants to pass the guard but Scott is keeping the position. Chai wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Scott managing to control the position. Scott looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chai is one step ahead there.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Chai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Scott swivels though and keeps the full guard. Scott pulls Chai in to control the position. Chai not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Chai passes Scott's left leg - he's now in half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chai seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scott does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that's the end of the fight! As we have tied on points and both fighters attempted the same number of subs, we will decide the bout based on the toss of a coin! Scott is heads and Chai is tails. The coin is in the air and it lands... heads! Scott takes the fight on points by 3 to 2. Tyron Scott retains his super heavyweight title! After winning the bout, Tyron Scott thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility. |
