The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Kamenev shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Chai napping and manages to drive through into side control! That's nine minutes gone in the round. Kamenev is pulling down on Chai's head. It's preventing any offense from Chai, at least for the moment. Chai controlling from the top position.

That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Kamenev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kamenev is looking to control Chai's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kamenev avoid being mounted? Chai wants to pass to mount but Kamenev is defending the position. Chai is stalling here. Kamenev is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Chai tries to buck Kamenev off but Kamenev is having none of it. Kamenev is looking to take a break and control but Chai is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kamenev content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Chai is not content to let Kamenev control the position. Chai is being controlled here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kamenev tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Kamenev in side control, just content to control the action for now.
