Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Edmonds (ranked 2238 p4p, 24952 weight class) and Rashad Petrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edmonds comes into the arena with Frankie Smith - Double Dutch Bus blaring out of the sound system. John Edmonds could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Rashad Petrov's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rashad Petrov!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrov moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Edmonds swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Edmonds ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Petrov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Edmonds.
Petrov walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Petrov misses the shot to the body.
Edmonds went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Petrov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Edmonds throws the left hand but Petrov avoids the punch easily.
Petrov rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Edmonds counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Edmonds throws a body punch but Petrov moves out of range.

Edmonds stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It seemed like Petrov was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
A nice leg kick lands there from Edmonds.
Petrov uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Edmonds has time to react.
Petrov throws the left hand but Edmonds avoids the punch easily.
Petrov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Edmonds to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Edmonds is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Petrov is just riding it out for now. Edmonds eventually gives up the hold.
Edmonds in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Petrov tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Edmonds!
