Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maxi Hernandez (ranked 2316 p4p, 25075 weight class) and Xi Daerji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hernandez comes to the cage accompanied by Machete. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Maxi Hernandez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Xi Daerji!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandez fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Daerji.
Some wild striking there from Hernandez.
Hernandez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Daerji has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Daerji misses with a takedown attempt
and Daerji takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hernandez tries to bum rush Daerji with a series of wild strikes but Daerji uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Hernandez throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Daerji on the side of the head.
Hernandez leaves Daerji with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hernandez moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Daerji shoots in looking for a takedown. Hernandez tries to sprawl out of it but Daerji keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hernandez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

As Daerji looks to move away, Hernandez throws a big counter combo but Daerji just gets out of the way.

Hernandez feints a jab promting Daerji to slip. Hernandez then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Daerji slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Daerji looks to land a left hand but Hernandez moved out of range nicely.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Daerji tries to clinch but Hernandez is having none of it.

Daerji takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Daerji needs to keep his hands up - Hernandez had a free shot at his head there.
Hernandez throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Daerji stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Daerji is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Daerji with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hernandez to score with a decent uppercut.
Daerji doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Hernandez steps in with a hook that catches Daerji right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Hernandez follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Daerji looks absolutely devastated.

Maxi Hernandez tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
