Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodney Pitstain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alfred Shipley! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pitstain throws a nice looking combination but Shipley bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Shipley throws a good cross that connects.
Pitstain throws a leg kick that is checked and Shipley counters with a nice body shot. Pitstain tries to keep at a distance but Shipley has taken the fight into the clinch. Shipley lands with a short head shot on the inside. Shipley lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Shipley pushes Pitstain back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. A short right from Shipley on the inside. Shipley lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shipley is working Pitstain over against the cage. Shipley lands a shoulder strike. A short right from Shipley on the inside. Shipley lands a right hand. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Shipley creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shipley lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Shipley misses with a body punch.
Shipley looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. A hook to the body from Shipley.
Shipley scores with an uppercut up the middle. A short body shot lands from Shipley as the two fighters clinch.
Pitstain is breathing heavily. Still in the clinch, Shipley scores with a nice short uppercut. Shipley lands with a right to the head. A nice right hand lands inside from Shipley.
Pitstain is rocked! Shipley lands a body punch in the clinch. Oh Pitstain is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Shipley lands a nice shot to the body. Shipley creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Pitstain with a big uppercut! Pitstain tries to clinch up but Shipley pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Pitstain to the mat! Pitstain covers up and Shipley unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Alfred Shipley! After winning the bout, Alfred Shipley thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility. The defeated Rodney Pitstain had this to say: 'You can't hang and bang with everyone, but I did my best tonight. Screw the haters, I love you all, though.'.
