The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Booth goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Edmund Betz has been cut.
Booth throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Betz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Betz.
Booth is looking to stand back up but Betz counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Booth.
Booth on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Booth tries to get out of the position.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Betz working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Booth is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Booth looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Betz lands a couple of good shots and Booth has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

I really don't envy Booth right now.
Betz doesn't have the hooks in and Booth manages to turn into his guard.
Betz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Booth manages to get himself to full guard.

Betz is in close to Booth's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Booth knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Betz on the ground.
Booth has momentary wrist control but Betz slips an elbow through the middle.

Betz shoots in looking for a takedown but Booth manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Betz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

No joy there for Booth, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Betz dives in and grabs Booth's left leg, looking for a takedown. Booth pushes down on Betz's head and hops out.

Betz has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Booth after a bit of a struggle.
Betz tries to score a body lock takedown but Booth shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Booth uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Betz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Booth counters with a straight right hand.
Booth defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Betz.
Betz's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Booth connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Betz scrambles back to his feet.

Booth closes the distance and clinches.
Betz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Booth walks away with a smile on his face. Betz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Booth fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Betz, pushing him back against the cage.
Booth is pressed up against the cage. Betz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Booth down to the mat. Booth avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Booth uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Betz has time to react.

A short body shot lands from Booth as the two fighters clinch.

Booth lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Booth rushes Betz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Booth lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Betz backwards.

Betz is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Booth lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Betz or not.
Betz tries to pull guard but Booth holds him up against the cage and eventually Betz drops back down to his feet.

Booth misses with a series of wild punches.
Booth throws a series of strikes that have Betz backpedaling.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Booth throws a hook to the side of Betz's head but Betz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Betz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Booth defends it nicely.

Booth is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Betz can do to turn this around?
Betz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Booth sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Betz somewhat.
Booth throws a combination. Betz tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Betz is rocked!
Are you kidding me?! Booth ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Betz clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
