This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 28 wins and 13 losses; Satan Blue! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 29 wins and 24 losses; Khalid Magomedov! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Magomedov shoots in for a takedown but Blue shows good takedown defense. Khalid Magomedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blue drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Blue trying to control but Magomedov is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Magomedov is pulling down on Blue's head. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Magomedov working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Blue wants to control the position but Magomedov says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

It looks like Magomedov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance...
