This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Joe Diddy! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Gordon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Gordon (0) vs (2) Diddy Diddy trying to control but Gordon is working from the bottom. Gordon definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Diddy controlling from the top position. Diddy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gordon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Diddy is one step ahead there.
Gordon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Diddy defends well. Gordon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diddy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Diddy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gordon, who protects the arm well. You can see the frustration on Gordon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Gordon prevents Diddy from moving into mount. Diddy is looking to take a break and control but Gordon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gordon is trying to improve his position.
