Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xander Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Janis Saldejums!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott gets caught flat footed, as Saldejums shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Scott has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Saldejums in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Saldejums gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Scott lands a lovely overhand right.

Saldejums wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Scott, who protects the arm well.
Scott is trying to control Saldejums's posture but Saldejums avoids it.
Saldejums throws a strike aimed at the side of Scott's head but Scott avoids it well.
Scott is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Scott wants to control but Saldejums postures up.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Scott is working hard here to advance position.
Scott tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Saldejums presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Saldejums has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Scott's face.
Saldejums controlling the pace for now.
Saldejums avoids the attempt from Scott to control.

Saldejums tries to control but Scott wriggling away.
Scott tries to hold on but Saldejums postures up.
Saldejums scoring with strikes but Scott is staying in there.

It looks like Xander Scott has been cut.
Scott working to try and regain half guard.
Saldejums sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Let's hope that Saldejums has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Scott is squirming around, avoiding Saldejums's attempts to control the action.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Scott has given up his back. Will we see Saldejums going for some submissions?
Scott trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Janis Saldejums dominated that round.

That's time! Scott's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Scott stuffs the takedown attempt from Saldejums. Saldejums gets slowly back to his feet.
An attempted straight right counter from Scott misses the target.
Scott uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Saldejums has time to react.
Donk. Scott catches Saldejums right on the button with a cross.
Saldejums takes one to the chin there.
Saldejums shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Scott defends it nicely.
Scott lands a nice shot that snaps Saldejums's head back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Saldejums gets a clinch.
Scott fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Scott pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

A cross from Scott lands.
Scott defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Saldejums.
Xander Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Janis Saldejums.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Saldejums.
Scott clobbers Saldejums with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Nice jab there from Scott.
Scott walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Saldejums drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Scott swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Saldejums's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Xander Scott!
An out of breath Xander Scott thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
