Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Barfield (ranked 2089 p4p, 1547 weight class) and Dmitry Boytsov (ranked 252 p4p, 199 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Boytsov's choice of entrance music: AMAZING. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Barfield! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 21 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Boytsov! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barfield lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Barfield closes the distance and pushes Boytsov back into the cage. Barfield pulls guard successfully.
Barfield is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Boytsov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Barfield has control of Boytsov's left arm, preventing Boytsov from doing any damage. Barfield is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Barfield tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boytsov wants to control from the top but Barfield keeps moving. Barfield keeping full guard, as Boytsov tries to pass. Boytsov is pushing down on Barfield's leg trying to pass to half guard. Barfield is fighting to maintain full guard but Boytsov has managed to sneak the leg through. Barfield wants to control but Boytsov is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boytsov is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barfield is trying to maintain the position but Boytsov is very close to passing his half guard. Boytsov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Boytsov has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Barfield defend it? Boytsov steps over the head and cranks it - Barfield is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Boytsov!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Dmitry Boytsov! Dmitry Boytsov bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
