Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Puyol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chupa Cobre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Puyol comes to the cage accompanied by Enter Sandman- Metallica. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sergio Puyol! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chupa Cobre! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Bruno Lombardi and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cobre tries to clinch up but Puyol circles away and keeps his distance. Cobre shoots for a double leg takedown but Puyol sprawls well. He's pushed Cobre's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Cobre throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Puyol gets the takedown into side control. Cobre is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Puyol has just dragged him back down to the mat. Puyol swings around for an armbar but Cobre sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Puyol's guard. Puyol has his foot on Cobre's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cobre works his way back into a safe position though. Cobre wants to control from the top but Puyol keeps moving. Puyol has an active guard here but Cobre has managed to pass into half guard.
Puyol is looking to control Cobre's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Puyol avoid being mounted? Cobre wants to pass to mount but Puyol is defending the position. Puyol looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Puyol has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cobre is working away from the top position though. Puyol might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Cobre wants to take a breather but Puyol is having none of it. Puyol is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Cobre pulls his head out easily.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Cobre has his takedown stuffed and Puyol counters with a takedown into side control. Puyol is breathing heavily. Cobre tries to get back to half guard but can't. Puyol trying to control the position but Cobre is working away. Cobre is looking to regain half guard here but Puyol keeps moving and retains side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Puyol prevents Cobre from escaping the position. Puyol working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Puyol goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cobre rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Puyol's guard! Nice work there by Cobre! Cobre advances to half guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Cobre stalling. Cobre is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Puyol!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cobre lands with some strikes. Cobre looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Cobre avoids the attempt from Puyol to control. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cobre cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Puyol scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Cobre is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Puyol is trying to control. Cobre wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Cobre tries to get to full guard but Puyol has control of the leg. Cobre is pressing down on Puyol's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Puyol preventing the sweep. Puyol drops back, looking for a kneebar! Cobre looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Cobre looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Cobre! Puyol is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Cobre asserts his dominance and retains side control. Cobre controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Chupa Cobre will probably get the nod. That's time! Puyol's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Puyol drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Cobre throwing rabbit punches from the bottom - showing the judges that he's keeping busy. Cobre has control of Puyol's left arm, preventing Puyol from doing any damage. Cobre working a defensive guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Puyol stays in close to Cobre's body and controls the position. Puyol drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cobre manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Puyol has Cobre in his guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Puyol looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cobre with a nice head shot there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cobre wants to pass the guard but Puyol is keeping the position. Cobre is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Puyol escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cobre gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Cobre trying to control but Puyol is working from the bottom. Puyol being controlled here, momentarily. Cobre stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Puyol swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cobre is looking to work some ground and pound but Puyol has wrist control.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Cobre shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cobre showed some decent athleticism there. Puyol tries to roll over but Cobre keeps him under control. Puyol is trying to maintain the position but Cobre is very close to passing his half guard. Cobre is trying to control the action in half guard but Puyol is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Cobre performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Cobre prevents Puyol from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cobre works his foot free and advances to mount. Puyol manages to regain half guard. Good work. Cobre lands with a punch from half guard. Puyol looking for submissions off his back. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Still in half guard, Cobre seems content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cobre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cobre manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Cobre connects with a couple of short punches. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Puyol can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cobre controls the pace. Puyol keeping moving, preventing Cobre from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cobre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cobre manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Puyol escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cobre gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Cobre advances to half guard. Cobre keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Puyol actively working from the bottom here. Cobre passes to full mount! Cobre scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cobre is going olschool here, as he tries to force Puyol to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Puyol shrugs it off. Cobre avoids the attempt from Puyol to control. Sergio Puyol has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A nice elbow there by Cobre. Cobre controlling from the full mount. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Cobre lands a big shot there that rocks Puyol but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
