The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Messi shoots in and gets a takedown into Hong's guard.
Hong looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Messi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hong tries to kick Messi off but Messi keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Hong is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Messi dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hong can do anything to dispel that myth.
Messi has hold of Hong's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hong seems comfortable defending it but Messi has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hong is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hong is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Messi couldn't care less - he's delighted!
