Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Frederico Mora!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Reed Johnson!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
No joy there for Mora, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Johnson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mora manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A punch combination from Johnson misses.
Mora swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Mora misses with the combination.
Johnson unleashes a big counter combination but Mora bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Johnson tries to clinch up but Mora circles away and keeps his distance.
A little feinted left hand from Mora on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Johnson drives through and clinches with Mora against the cage.

Johnson decides to pull guard.

Mora thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mora stands and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Mora is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Johnson has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Mora looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Johnson throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

Mora thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Johnson is looking for a sweep.
Mora wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working.
Mora working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnson is not content to let Mora control the position.

Mora is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Johnson looks calm but he's in trouble here. Mora gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Johnson is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Mora lets go of the hold and Johnson can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Frederico Mora!
