The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magomedsharipov shoots in and bounces John off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
John escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Magomedsharipov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Magomedsharipov is stalling in the full guard.
Magomedsharipov throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
John is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
John is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Magomedsharipov has his hands clasped together but John extends and breaks Magomedsharipov's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by John.
