Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Armand Ferguson (ranked 3867 p4p, 3895 weight class) and Gideons Spekmanis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Armand Ferguson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gideons Spekmanis!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spekmanis tries to keep at a distance but Ferguson has taken the fight into the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Ferguson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Spekmanis blocks a head kick by Ferguson.
Spekmanis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ferguson is being controlled here.
Ferguson wants to control but Spekmanis postures up.
Ferguson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Spekmanis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ferguson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Spekmanis pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Ferguson swings wildly with an uppercut but Spekmanis uses good head movement to avoid it.

Ferguson wants to get up but he can't break Spekmanis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Armand Ferguson.
Well Ferguson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
