Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Armand Ferguson (ranked 3867 p4p, 3895 weight class) and Gideons Spekmanis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Armand Ferguson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gideons Spekmanis! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spekmanis tries to keep at a distance but Ferguson has taken the fight into the clinch. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Ferguson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Spekmanis blocks a head kick by Ferguson.
Spekmanis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ferguson is being controlled here. Ferguson wants to control but Spekmanis postures up. Ferguson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Spekmanis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sloppy strikes there by Spekmanis. Ferguson tries to bench press Spekmanis off him but Spekmanis keeps the position. Ferguson gets back to half guard. Ferguson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spekmanis is pressing down on Ferguson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ferguson is holding on for now. Still in half guard, Spekmanis seems content to control. Ferguson wants to get back to his feet.
Spekmanis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ferguson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Ferguson regains full guard. Nicely done. Ferguson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Spekmanis is controlling him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ferguson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Spekmanis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Ferguson is defending against the submission attempts here by Spekmanis.
Spekmanis prevents Ferguson from standing back up.
Spekmanis uses his free foot to push down on Ferguson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ferguson. Ferguson wants to control but Spekmanis is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spekmanis is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Ferguson gets the takedown into side control. Spekmanis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ferguson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Ferguson takes a little break here. Spekmanis wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Spekmanis prevents Ferguson from moving into mount. Ferguson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ferguson is looking to take a break and control but Spekmanis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ferguson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Spekmanis is being controlled here. Ferguson trying to control the position but Spekmanis is working away. Spekmanis misses with an elbow from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Spekmanis is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Armand Ferguson will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Ferguson gets a clinch. Spekmanis tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ferguson just stands there and leans against the cage. Spekmanis will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Ferguson up against the cage. Ferguson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Spekmanis pulls him back up using the underhooks. Ferguson swings wildly with an uppercut but Spekmanis uses good head movement to avoid it. Ferguson has clasped his hands together around Spekmanis's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spekmanis tries to escape but Ferguson is in control. Spekmanis gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Ferguson passes into side control, despite Spekmanis's attempt to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ferguson controlling the position from side mount. Spekmanis is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Spekmanis is trying to work for a sweep but Ferguson has mounted him! Ferguson landing punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Spekmanis is looking to improve his position but Ferguson isn't that keen on the idea. Ferguson controlling from mount. Ferguson with a couple of short strikes. Spekmanis can't escape the position.
Ferguson controlling the pace for now. Spekmanis is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Spekmanis tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ferguson raining down hammerfists from mount. Spekmanis is looking to improve his position but Ferguson isn't that keen on the idea. Ferguson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Spekmanis has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Spekmanis manages to regain half guard. Good work. Ferguson stalling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spekmanis is looking for a sweep. Ferguson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Spekmanis regains full guard. Nicely done. Armand Ferguson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ferguson controls from within his opponent's guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ferguson wants to get up but he can't break Spekmanis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Armand Ferguson dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! Spekmanis tries to close the distance and clinch but Ferguson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Spekmanis misses with a double jab.
Ferguson appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Spekmanis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Spekmanis is trying to stall.
Ferguson jumps guard.
Ferguson keeping moving, preventing Spekmanis from controlling successfully. Ferguson throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spekmanis being controlled here momentarily. Spekmanis trying to control the position from guard on top but Ferguson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ferguson throwing rabbit punches from the bottom - showing the judges that he's keeping busy. Spekmanis working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ferguson working a defensive guard here.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Ferguson has Spekmanis pulled in close to control his posture.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Spekmanis is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Excellent takedown into side control there by Ferguson.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spekmanis is looking to reverse the position. Ferguson wants to stand but Spekmanis has his arm trapped. Ferguson taking a break here but Spekmanis is having none of it and regains half guard. Ferguson is looking for a kimura but Spekmanis is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ferguson to get the leverage. Spekmanis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ferguson is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spekmanis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ferguson content to control rather than advance. Spekmanis is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ferguson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ferguson's back! Spekmanis is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Spekmanis working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Spekmanis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spekmanis not allowing Ferguson to control his hands. Ferguson breaks Spekmanis's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Ferguson pushes down on Spekmanis's leg and manages to get into half guard. Spekmanis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ferguson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Armand Ferguson. Well Ferguson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
