Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Naoya Legend (ranked 25379 p4p, 4537 weight class) and Shin Otami (ranked 352 p4p, 0 weight class). Naoya Legend has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Naoya Legend! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shin Otami! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Shimada and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Otami throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Legend's waist but Legend gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Otami off to one side. Legend looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! A right-left combo lands from Legend. A jab lands there for Otami. Otami moves into the clinch successfully.
Otami looking for a takedown. Otami has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Legend is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Naoya Legend has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shin Otami. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Otami obliges. Legend tries a body shot but Otami blocks it.
Otami is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Legend looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Otami is working Legend over against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Otami wants a takedown.
Otami has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Legend avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Otami digs a right hand underneath Legend's ribcage. Legend let out a lung full of air as it connected. Otami breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Legend fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Otami manages to avoid it. Otami bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Legend's head. Shin Otami seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A punch combination from Otami misses. It looked like Legend was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Otami will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Otami takes the fight into the clinch. Otami drags the fight down to the ground.
Otami is pulling down on Legend's head. It's preventing any offense from Legend, at least for the moment. Otami throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Otami has control of Legend's left arm, preventing Legend from doing any damage. Otami is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Otami is adopting a defensive guard. Otami manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Legend manages to get himself to full guard.
Legend being controlled here, momentarily. Otami sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Legend's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Otami moves nicely into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Otami advances to full mount. Otami sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Otami jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Legend manages to avoid the submission attempt. Legend knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Otami on the ground. Otami has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Legend! Legend has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Legend might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Legend trying to get back to his feet but Otami is in full control for now. Otami is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Otami has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Legend has freed his hand and lives to survive another well, another couple of seconds at least!
Otami has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Legend's body.

Otami gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Otami has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Legend has freed his hand and lives to survive another well, another couple of seconds at least!

Shin Otami dominated that round. That's time! Legend's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. A combination from Legend does no damage. Otami instigates a clinch. Otami goes for a takedown attempt but Legend pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Otami shoots in but Legend avoids the takedown attempt easily. Legend misses with an uppercut
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Legend seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Otami pushes Legend up against the cage in a clinch. Otami manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Legend leaves Otami with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. It looked like Legend was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Naoya Legend has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shin Otami. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Otami instigates a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Legend wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Otami is working for takedown but Legend is calmly controlling the position for now. Otami pulls Legend into guard.
Otami has his hands on Legend's head, controlling the position. Otami has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Otami is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Legend defends well. Legend being controlled here momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Otami looking for a guillotine here but Legend defends easily.

Legend misses with a looping right. Legend looks to score with a jab to the body but Otami is just out of range. Legend misses with a wild body shot.

Otami's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Otami darts in and clinches Legend up against the cage. Otami is trying to drag Legend to the mat but Legend just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Otami escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Legend stuffs the takedown. Legend seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. A combination from Legend does no damage. Otami lands with a slapping head kick. Otami rushes Legend and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Otami escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Legend gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Otami trying to control the position here. Otami trying to strike off his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Legend throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Otami works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Shin Otami showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round! Otami lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Legend will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Legend tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Otami ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Otami no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Legend throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Otami works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Legend throws a strike but Otami rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Otami's corner is telling him to maintain position. Otami slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Legend. Otami is taking a breather. Legend says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Otami thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Legend's head. Otami stands up out of the half guard. Otami shoots in for a double leg but Legend sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Naoya Legend has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Shin Otami is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Legend leaves Otami with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Shin Otami comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Otami has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
